By default, anyone that creates a Matter will be a Matter Admin.
However, at the FamilyProperty Account-level, there are two settings which can be configured which will affect access to the Matters within your FamilyProperty Account.
These settings can only be configured by an Account Admin:
- The 'Access to new matters' setting can be configured to grant certain users access to new Matters within the FamilyProperty Account.
- The 'Access to all matters' setting can be configured to grant all Account Users and Account Admins access to all the Matters within the FamilyProperty Account, with Matter Admin permissions.
To edit the 'Access to new Matters' setting:
- Click on Account > Settings > scroll down to the 'Matters' section and click to expand.
- Under 'Access to new matters' > select the option from the dropdown list that best suits your firm/practice.
- Scroll down and hit 'Save'. All new Matters (created hereon in) will add people to the Matter as selected above.
To edit the 'Access to all Matters' setting:
- Click on Account > Settings > scroll down to the 'Matters' section and click to expand.
- Under 'Access to all matters' > select the option from the dropdown list that best suits your firm/practice.
- Scroll down and hit 'Save'.
Note -
If selecting "Yes - All account users will have automatic access to all matters (with "admin" access)", all Account Users and Account Admins within your FamilyProperty Account will have Matter Admin permissions on all Matters.
If selecting "No - Users will be provided access to each matter manually", the Matter Admin for each Matter will have to manually grant access to that particular Matter. (See: Access to Matters.)
