Whilst a Matter Admin can only manage the Matter in question, Account Admins can make changes to the FamilyProperty Account Settings, and/or add and remove others from the FamilyProperty Account.
To Manually Add Users to a Matter:
Matter Admins can add others to a Matter as follows:
- From the Matters Listing page > click the ... icon to the right of the Matter in question > Set-up
- Scroll down to the User Access section.
- To add a person from your FamilyProperty Account to the Matter, under 'Account Users' > click on 'Add' and select the person you wish to provide Matter access to, and select the Matter Access Level you wish to grant them. You can also an account user who has 'admin' or 'user' access as the Owner. The owner is usually the person who has responsibility for the file.
To add an external collaborator, under 'Other Users' > click on 'Add' > fill in their Full name and
Email address > and select the Matter Access Level you wish to grant them.
Matter Admins can collaborate on the Matter, and manage the Matter, which includes adding/removing other Matter users.
Matter Users can collaborate on the Matter, however, cannot manage the Matter or add/remove others.
Matter Viewers can view the Matter, however cannot collaborate or make any changes to it.
Questionnaire Only users can only access the Questionnaire, and/or the Client Portal (for disclosure) if enabled by a Matter Admin.
Automatically Add Users to Matters via Account Settings:
If your firm/practice would like to automatically grant access to Matters to people in your firm - instead of Matter Admins having to set this up for individual Matters - there are two different FamilyProperty Account settings that an Account Admin can configure.
- The 'Access to new matters' setting.
- The 'Access to all matters' setting.
Note - whilst Account Admins have access to manage these FamilyProperty Account Settings, they don't automatically get access to all Matters, so may wish to review these settings.
