After creating a Matter in FamilyProperty, you can import a Family Court Balance Sheet document - or a Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) spreadsheet with the same format - to import items into your Balance Sheet.
This is a great option if you're new to FamilyProperty, and you have some existing matters that you'd like to populate quickly.
To import a Balance Sheet:

After creating a Matter > open to a Party's Balance Sheet > click on Actions > Import Balance Sheet > and fill out the Import Balance Sheet window.

Import values from which column?
Check your document/spreadsheet and select Applicant or Respondent's column.

How Is Ownership Identified?
From your document/spreadsheet, under the Ownership column, select which value represents This Party's ownership (template default: "W"), and Other Party's ownership (template default: "H"). Items with a "J" will represent Joint ownership.

Select your balance sheet > Import.
Upload your document or spreadsheet here and click on the Import button.

Confirm the information to import.
All items by default will show Type = Other.
Update this for each item in the balance sheet using the drop-down box. Choosing the correct "Type" is important it drives other relevant data fields for populating other important documents in FamilyProperty. Make any additional edits as needed.
Once you have reviewed and confirmed the data, click Import. Your Balance Sheet will be loaded with the imported data and Balance Sheet items.
