Saving Versions of your Balance Sheet
You can easily save different versions of the balance sheet allowing you model various scenarios simultaneously and prepare offers. Generate documents for each version to provide to your client at the click of a button.
1. When you first start using the balance sheet, it will be named as Client's working balance sheet and will auto-save, allowing you to log out and back in and continue working. It's important to save your version and give it a name when you're ready to model a second proposal. To save your balance sheet, click on the Versions tab and select Save new version.
2. Give your version a title, add any relevant notes as needed and click Save.
3. Your balance sheet will now be named with your chosen title and you will remain within this version. Any edits will auto-save. You can also go to the Versions tab and click 'Save' at any time.
4. To save an additional version of your balance sheet, click on the Versions tab and select Save new version and give your version a title Eg. Sam - Proposal 2 and click Save. Then make your changes to reflect your desired scenario and this will auto-save as you continue working on it. If you wish to clear all existing proposals and/or values to start fresh, you can use the Actions tab and select the options shown below:
5. You also have the option to start with a completely blank version if desired. To do this, click on the Versions tab and click Save blank version. This means all the items will be cleared from this version allowing you to start from scratch.
6. If you or the client submitted a questionnaire, you will automatically have this version available as shown in the image below. This means you can revert back and start new versions from the original. After opening the 'From questionnaire' version, ensure you save a new version before making changes, otherwise any edits will be saved against the 'From questionnaire' version
Work on Multiple Versions Simultaneously
Once you have saved different versions of your Balance Sheet, you can work on these simultaneously and easily compare the proposals by launching them in a new browser window.
You will have one version already showing in FamilyProperty, to launch other saved versions in a new window, simply click on the icon to the right of the version name (shown below):
Continue working on these versions with any changes auto-saving.
Generate Documents for Different Versions of your Balance Sheet
To generate any document for a given version, ensure you are displaying that version within the main FamilyProperty window and from the left-hand menu, under Documents and Forms, you will have quick access to the Word documents highlighted below, or click on 'Show all documents' to browse all available documents:
If you have launched a saved version in a new window, you can generate a balance sheet or proposal document using the button in the top right corner:
To generate other documents for this version, it will need to be displayed in the main FamilyProperty window.
