Whilst Lawyers use Lawyer Matters within FamilyProperty - as they represent the interests of one party only (Party A) - Mediators may be interested in using Mediator Matters instead.
Mediator Matters are comprised of two sides (Party A's side and Party B's side) and allow for a Mediator to work with both side's jointly or separately as needed.
Information from Party A's side and/or Party B's side can then be used to populate data in the Neutral Balance Sheet for Mediation.
Neutral Balance Sheet
For instance, a Mediator can invite Party A to fill out their Questionnaire, noting all their Assets and Liabilities, then mock up Proposals with Party A or their Lawyer.
They can then do the same for Party B, asking Party B to fill out their Questionnaire, noting all the Assets and Liabilities as seen from Party B's side, then mock up Proposals with Party B and their Lawyer as well.
From there, a Mediator can compare the Party A Proposals against the Party B Proposals via the Neutral Balance Sheet.
Party A's Questionnaire, Balance Sheets, Proposals and Documents will remain visible to Party A only, unless the Mediator makes this accessible via the Neutral Balance Sheet.
Similarly - Party B's Questionnaire, Balance Sheets, Proposals and Documents will remain visible to Party B only, unless the Mediator makes this accessible via the Neutral Balance Sheet.
